How does war contribute to the weakening and marginalization of the identities and cultures of the peoples exposed to it? What are the mechanisms for escaping the ideologies and prejudices that reinforce the continuity of violence?

In this creation, four dancers and a live musician articulate dances between popular and post- colonialism, like a transformable and re-modellable terrain.

This research revolves around bodies and cultures of people vulnerable to fragmentation, that generated by loss, injustice and authoritarianism, due to the political circumstances and crises imposed on them. I wish to question the role dance could take on while facing threat, danger and insistence, in which hope, desire and resilience also reside. Can dance still rise up and confront weapon systems and authoritarianism in a reality full of violence and killing? And could dance and bodies manifestation become a force on behalf of peace and humanity that fights barbarism and authoritarian weapon systems?

How can dance become an act, a ritual, and an uprising to confront the threats to individuals and hu- manity? How can dance become a form of peaceful protest, a revolutionary act in the space of democracy and human will?
